After years of research and dna testing John Sinclair was contacted and kindly agreed to do a re-test for us for the BigY test at Family Tree DNA.

After months of waiting we finally got the results, and to no surprise John Sinclair matched our main group called Z346+ or old lineage 4 as it was called.

Many thanks to Dr. James Wilson for working with us at an early stage.

Special thanks to John Thurso Sinclair for his co-operation in re-testing and seeing this through to the end results which are fantastic.

. Also thanks to the research team Sinclair DNA Z346+ a great group who refused to give up against all odds. Special thanks also to Nina ( Sinclair ) Cawthorne of the U.K. lead Researcher, and Robert Sinclair of Canada Research and social media.

John Sinclair has a back mutation on STR marker dys 390=24 most other Sinclairs to whom he matches are dys 390=23. This is of no concern as it is a simple mutation and the SNP markers above prove beyond any doubt that he shares a common ancestor with many Sinclairs from Caithness,Orkney,Shetland and now many scattered around the world
